This is a clean, censored version of my experimental painting I made some time ago. The colors went all wild, I also wanted to experiment with the watercolors a bit more. Sponge proved as a good tool (for the background).

Our first assignment in Illustration II this semester was to illustrate a single word, and to do it in a way so that it wasn't blatant nor achingly subtle. The word crocodiles kept cycling through my head- not as the word to illustrate, but as the subject matter- and so I chose "awkward" as my word and came up with the idea of a crocodile businessman bring home a wildebeest friend from work only to find his wife preparing exactly that for dinner. Heh. Awkward.

This was an art trade with Eric Schwartz. Eric is a dynamite cartoonist and I love his girl drawings but I wanted to draw a girl that was in some ways the opposite of his strong-willed, dynamic and outgoing characters. While this girl is no less pleasant and content than his regulars I tried to draw her loose limbed and in a compact, guarded pose to give the attitude that she'd rather be part of the background than in front of the spotlight.

This joke is so old it isn't even funny anymore. This pic stands as a testimony to how long it takes me to do things sometimes. It sat in my sketchbook for over a year before I inked and dated it, then sat on my computer for almost a year before I colored it. I hate computer coloring. This was done for the MGC: Pirate contest -- and strangely enough, I won with this pic of Lady Lady, buccaneer of the British Isles and queen of the seven seas. (For those of you not into Gargoyles, the London clan all resemble heraldic animals for some reason, which is why Lucy looks like a lion.) Arrrgh!

A tattoo design of an Aztec were-jaguar... the ground surface is both tiles, and also skin - hence the blood... Done for a guy who is going to get it tattooed on his bicep - I'm looking forward to seeing pics of it when he gets it done =). Done in inks and acrylic paints on 9"x12" illustration board.

a cover for my art binder to replace and old cross-hatched Red Panda this was an absolute pain, I should have gotten a ruler. The other things was, the original 'panda was like.. 3 quarters big, while this one took up almost the whole paper xD ah well, I like the result, eigther way :D
